Since 1974, Richard has amassed a wealth of experience in financial services. He began his career with Allied Dunbar (now part of Zurich Financial Services) and took on various technical and marketing roles, before establishing his own financial consultancy in 1984 – and co-founding Butler Toll six years later. Married with three daughters, Richard enjoys playing and listening to music, cycling, walking and boating – when time allows, that is!
Starting in 1973, Andy’s career saw him adopt various roles within Allied Dunbar (now part of Zurich Financial Services) and Legal & General before he joined Butler Toll in 1991. He is married with two grown up children and is a proud grandfather. An avid rugby fan, Andy enjoys watching his son carrying on the family tradition of playing the sport.
Jeremy began his career in financial markets in 1981. Fifteen years as a bond trader with SG Warburg were followed by roles in proprietary trading, bond broking and UK equity market making. In 2006, Jeremy joined Butler Toll as Investment Director and has since been responsible for the development and management of Butler Toll Asset Management (btam). Jeremy has two teenage children and lives near Henley-on-Thames.
Highly qualified, John read Economics at the University College of Wales before gaining a MA at the University of Manchester. He subsequently lectured at the University of Calgary while studying for a PhD. His career as an economist has spanned 35 years, and included roles at Laing & Cruickshank, Mullens & Co, Yamaichi Bank and SG Warburg Securities. From 1998-2008, John was a Global Economist and Director at Kleinwort Benson, during which time the Global Economics team was ranked first in the Global Economics category in the Extel Survey of Institutional Investors for five consecutive years (2003-07). In his spare time, John is a trustee of Highgate Cemetery and recently completed a MA in Victorian Studies.
With nearly 40 years’ experience in financial markets under his belt, Mike is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He spent 22 years on institutional bond sales with SG Warburg (now UBS) before becoming a pension fund trustee for several blue chip companies. During this time he gained considerable experience of fund management through dealings with individual fund managers and asset allocation committees. In his spare time, Mike is a horse racing enthusiast, and a member of a racing syndicate.
Steve worked as a financial adviser for over 30 years and ran his own financial services practice before joining Butler Toll in 2012. As a Client Relationship Manager, he now liaises with Butler Toll’s team of Chartered Financial Planners, to ensure that clients continue to receive the advice they need. Steve is a trained counsellor, volunteers for a charity that provides support for AIDs orphans in Malawi and is a keen sports fan. When he isn’t cycling or walking, Steve is lead vocalist and plays rhythm guitar in a local band.
While studying for a degree in Scandinavian languages and literature in her native Serbia, Natasa held various roles with the European Commission agency. After moving to the UK – initially to explore living abroad – Natasa’s first job at a discretionary asset management firm led her to put down roots here. For eight years, she has worked primarily in investments within financial services. However, in her role as Operations Manager with Butler Toll, she feels she gets to the heart of what matters to clients when it comes to their financial affairs. She describes it as “probably the most challenging part of what we do”. Natasa speaks fluent English and Swedish, and in her spare time kayaking, travelling and reading are high on her list of priorities.
