Richard and Andy’s roles have changed, but they’re still part of the Butler Toll team
Richard Butler
Richard was one of the original founders of Butler Toll in 1990 and has played a pivotal part in building the business ever since.
As part of a planned transition Richard made the decision to step away from providing Financial Advice at the beginning of 2024 and has worked over the last 12 months to help and support the seamless transition of his clients to other experienced Financial Planners in the Butler Toll team.
Richard remains a Director and Ambassador for Butler Toll but is also able to spend more time working on his home and land in Somerset and maximising the use of his longstanding membership of Somerset County Cricket Club.
Commenting on the future for Butler Toll, Richard is very positive
‘ I’m extremely excited for the future prospects of Butler Toll the energy and enthusiasm in the business is great to see. We have already started to implement changes to build on the levels of support and care for our Clients and there is more to come in 2025.’

Whatever I’m learning to play on the guitar at the time. Right now, it’s ‘Little Martha’ by The Allman Brothers

Probably regurgitating obscure facts that appear impressive but are of no practical use to anyone!
Andy Westall
Andy joined Butler Toll in 1991 and has been driving force in growing the Business ever since. Andy stepped away from providing Financial Advice a few years ago but has remained active within the business in his important role as Compliance Director and as an Ambassador for Butler Toll and continues to introduce clients for our Financial Planners to help and support.
Outside of work Andy continues to support local rugby and is often outdoors pursuing his passion for field sports, this includes an annual trip to fish for elusive salmon in Scotland where after many fruitless years Andy has resorted to throwing himself in the river to try and catch a fish by hand. (He tells us he fell in but we don’t believe him!).
