You’ve got your Diploma and SPS. What next?

 

You’re well on your way to becoming a Chartered Financial Planner but finding a position which enables you to develop into the finished article isn’t easy.

You will be working closely with our existing Chartered Financial Planning and Professional Services teams.

 

You will be working face-to-face with clients from day one and given a client bank to manage and grow.

We will help you develop your skills in terms of the advice process, networking and expanding your portfolio of clients as you are given the room to grow into the role.

 

As part of your personal development we will support you as you work towards Chartered status and beyond.

James’ Story

 

“I joined Butler Toll a little over 2 years ago.

 

I had passed my Diploma and obtained my SPS with a previous firm, but the opportunities for developing my skills were limited. I was just given a target and some legacy clients and told to get on with it. It really was a case of ‘sink or swim’.

 

I joined Butler Toll because their approach was refreshingly different. I spent the first year working with the Directors and Consultants on developing opportunities and preparing cases.

 

There was no question of a ‘sales target’, instead the emphasis was on providing clients with a first class service and developing my knowledge and skills.

I was involved in client work from day one, which was a massive learning curve for me because many of the cases I worked on were complex financial planning scenarios.

 

I was also encouraged to study for my Chartered qualifications, in conjunction with learning on the job.

 

Once I completed my initial training and probationary period, I was allocated clients to look after in my own right, and since then I have steadily built a portfolio of clients through referrals and networking activities.

 

Two years on, and after a lot of hard work, I am now a fully-fledged Chartered Financial Planner. I am now responsible for a portfolio of around £35m of assets under management, and looking forward to building on this in the future.

Professional Services Administrator

We are looking to develop our administration team supporting our internal Chartered Financial Planning Team. You will need to be a team player who can multi-task, with the ability to work quickly and accurately in a pressured environment.

You must be able to adapt to the demands and changes of a growing business.

 

We are keen to support a candidate looking to develop their career in the financial services industry, with this role being an ideal starting point.

 

You will be supported with training for relevant professional qualifications and work closely with three Chartered Financial Planners.
