Qualifications

  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

    This meets the FCA's qualification requirements for retail investment advisers and helps candidates to develop core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities.

  • R01 (Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation, legislation and the Code of Ethics.

  • R02 (Investment Principles)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of investment products and the application of the investment advice process.

  • R03 (Personal Taxation)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK taxation system, and the ability to analyse the taxation treatment of individuals and trusts during the investment advice process.

  • R04 (Pensions and Retirement Planning)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.

  • R06 (Financial Planning Practice)

    This qualification helps advisers develop and demonstrate their financial planning capabilities.

  • CF1 (UK Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics)

    This qualification develops an understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation and legislation.

  • R05 (Financial Protection)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.

The professional side of things

Gaz has been working as a financial planner since the beginning of 2019.

He is passionate about helping clients plan for their ideal future and protect what is important to them.

Gaz has expertise in protection, investments, and pensions. He also enjoys helping clients to understand and consider their options around Inheritance Tax planning.

Gaz specialises in retirement planning, including advising clients on the best income options during retirement.

Away from the office

Gaz enjoys playing football and spending time with his family.

He likes watching MMA and boxing, and – on the rare occasion he gets the chance – gaming on his PS4!

Gaz loves to travel and hopes to continue exploring the world.

Getting to know my clients and their aspirations.

Helping clients protect their financial future and providing peace of mind.

Long-term financial planning with clients all the way into their retirement.

What has been your career highlight so far?

Receiving a thank you message for convincing a client to take out critical illness cover that subsequently paid out.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Langkawi, Malaysia or Istanbul, Turkey.

What’s your favourite song to play in the car?

It depends on my mood, but at the moment, I like listening to ‘Unsteady’ by X Ambassadors.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you win a gold medal in?

    The Financial Vulnerability Taskforce created this Charter in 2021 and it has over 1,000 firms. It focuses specifically on vulnerability and forms a key part of the Consumer Duty Alliance Code of Professional Standards.
